No More Cot Prison

Increasingly we are becoming aware that we're living on borrowed time with Finley still sleeping in his baby cot. He's fast approaching the two and a half years old mark now and every noise, every creak we hear from upstairs whilst trying to eat our dinner, we convince ourselves that he's finally done it. He's finally figured out how to throw himself over the side and make a break for freedom. Any second he'll come bumping down the stairs on his 'bum-bum' asking for a biscuit or a drink or a story and that will be it. Game over. No more cot prison. The enjoyment of our evenings will be subject to his free will and our ability (or lack of) to discipline him. Luckily for us its not happened yet, but now I've put that in writing it probably will tonight of course...

My First Award, like ever...

So the lovely Lexie aka Mama Berry surprised me last week by nominating me for this award! Hop over and see her when you have the chance - she's partial to a peach margarita or three - my kind of Mummy !
This award is all about sharing the new blogger love (lieb is love in German right?) and getting to know some fellow bloggers!
Lexie's come up with some pretty good questions for me, which I've done my best to answer

His 2nd Birthday

It was Finley's 2nd birthday this week so we both took a days holiday from work and he bunked Nursery. We got him a few little presents but nothing major so his big gift was a Birthday Day Out.
Its something I hope we can maintain in the years to come as his birthday will always be in the school holidays. He has his party set for Sunday and all the family will be there but we wanted to have him to ourselves for a whole day and take him out and treat him to a ridiculous amount of sugar!
I had a good weather and a bad weather plan. The good weather plan was a trip to a family adventure farm park in Sussex, complete with animals, tractors, water park and rides. I'll keep it in mind for next year.
The weather gods picked the bad weather plan (is Summer over already??) and we headed to the Gruffalo Experience at Bluewater.
