Second Hand Shit For Christmas

I know some people turn up their noses at second hand toys but not in this house. In this house we love second hand shit! Ebay, jumble sales, Gumtree - you name it we've been there routing through the junk. I've picked up some brilliant bargains over the years! And so it comes as no surprise that Finley will be getting some second hand toys this Christmas, just like he did last year.

"But not for his Christmas present, surely?"
Fuck yes people.

"Don't you want to buy him nice new presents?"
No, actually. Our agenda is to buy him what he likes and as much of it as the budget will allow.

The Fifth Gift of Christmas : The Winter Woodland Dress By Alice Louisa Design

The fifth gift of Christmas is this absolutely gorgeous dress by Alice Louisa Design. They are an online Children's Clothing Boutique who specialise in handmade clothes and accessories with vintage designs and high quality fabrics. The collection is really beautiful and unique, you just wont find designs like these on the High Street.
When the dress arrived I loved it instantly, its beautiful and if only it was ten five times bigger I would be wearing it myself right now! However, begrudgingly I had to hand the dress over to my three year old niece Emily to do the honours on this one. In her Mummy's words, she's not really one for dresses but she loved the design with the animals and was very happy to pose for pictures! Mummy really liked the pinafore design as it makes it easy to get on and off, it comes together with two jeweled buttons at either side which are really sweet.

George Osborne Is Taxing My Vagina

George Osborne is literally taxing my vagina, and I voted for him, the bastard.

Maybe I should have voted Labour, in particular for Stella Creasy who addressed the Commons last week about vagina added tax and forced some old, pompous guys to say the terrible word 'tampon'. She seems like the kind of girl I could get on well with, even if she doesn't like Jaffa Cakes.
But anyway its too late for all that now, I've just got to carry on living in a country where my natural and involuntary biological body processes are deemed as cosmetic and optional.

It is after all, terribly extravagant of me to menstruate.

When Your Toddler Goes Feral

My son, ninety five percent of the time is a really loving and empathetic child. He loves a cuddle, a big snotty kiss goodbye, a snuggle up on the sofa. He's kind to his animals, he'll kiss you better when you stumble over his train track, he'll share his biscuits when asked. He is by nature, a kind soul.
However, every now and then - every 5% of the time my son goes fucking feral. Maybe he's just too good, reaches his limit and needs to go bat shit crazy to release his inner demons, I don't know.
Case in point, last week when upon Nursery pick up my husband was summoned to sign an Incident Form, because our darling boy had held his best friend in a headlock and wouldn't let go.
Not only did he hold this kid down like Hulk Hogan high on Meth, he then refused to apologise and kept shuffling out of the 'quiet corner' where he been put to consider what he'd done.
