A Day At Dreamland
Summer made a last gasp for life last weekend and we decided to take full advantage of it by going to the seaside! We headed off to Margate with my sister and spent most of the day at the revamped Dreamland!
Being the super organised Mummy (and penny pincher) that I am, I pre-booked our tickets to get the online discount and kiddo was free because he's under 3.
Pre-booked tickets also means you don't have to queue, I just showed the email on my phone, they scanned the bar code and away we went - easy peasy.
Telling The World To Go Suck It
I've changed alot recently, maybe I've had an epiphany, maybe I'm just too tired to care what people think. Or maybe I'm en route to some kind of Michael Douglas-Falling Down type break down, ah well who knows?
Anyway, the point is whatever the reason may be, I've just got a bit braver, I just give less of a shit.
Life is just better when you don't determine your choices based on the perceived reactions of others.
I realised this the other day when I shocked myself by shouting at an old lady in Aldi. Don't worry she totally deserved it, she was incredibly rude to me for no reason and I only gave her back what she gave me. She should think twice before targeting a harassed working mother who is due her period.
Truthfully, I am in no way a confrontational person. I hate conflict and I only enjoy arguing with my husband but I've reached a stage now where I might not actually tolerate other people's bad behavior and the world is just going to have to suck it.
Lets Talk (About Mental Health)
Next week see's the start of my guest post series, in the run up to World Mental Health Day on the 10th October.
What started as a vague idea to talk about Mental Health and write a post motivated by this day has turned into an amazing series, with some brilliant posts and very talented bloggers!
My guest posters next week are Lisa, Jemma, Lucy and Heather, I have been truly touched by all of their pieces and feel very honoured to be sharing their stories.
We will be talking about a variety of issues such as anxiety, suicide, post natal depression and self harm. Our intention is to highlight these illnesses, talk about them and break the taboo that mental health is something to be brushed under the carpet.
You can find out more about the bloggers in the Lets Talk tab at the top of the site.

Is It Ever Ok to Leave Your Kids In The Car ?
So it would seem Rachel Stevens has got herself a bit of a Mummy Bashing for leaving her kids in the car whilst 'running some errands'. According to my sources (the always accurate *cough cough* MailOnline) she left her four year old and eighteen month old unattended in the car for ten minutes. When I first read this I must say I was a bit astounded, on the surface it does sound quite irresponsible. But then I got to thinking about some of the stupid parenting choices I've made and got my large bottom off my rather high horse and checked myself before I wrecked myself.
Hooparoo Hula Hoop Competition!
If you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen that my son and niece had a bit of a hula-hoop dance off last weekend! Neither of them were very successful at it but they spent quite a long time larking and laughing about in the garden trying to do it.
I'm Always Going to be Just a Little Bit Fat
I just want to lay this all out for you before I start talking about body image issues, at the time of writing I am a good size 14 - although this could all change on Friday night because I have a date with Dominoes..... Anyway have you now got an image in your mind of a slightly chubby Mum, in her PJ's eating pizza and sipping a bottle of Bud? Great, that's exactly what I'm going for - now we can begin.....
My First Award, like ever...
So the lovely Lexie aka Mama Berry surprised me last week by nominating me for this award! Hop over and see her when you have the chance - she's partial to a peach margarita or three - my kind of Mummy !
This award is all about sharing the new blogger love (lieb is love in German right?) and getting to know some fellow bloggers!
Lexie's come up with some pretty good questions for me, which I've done my best to answer

A Boy and His Cat
So if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you'll know that we adopted another cat last week, by mistake.
One evening a little black kitten ventured into our kitchen and helped herself to someone else's dinner. We let her eat and then my husband scooped her up and went knocking on doors to find out who she belonged to. There were no takers. A couple of neighbours said she had been around for a few days and they had been feeding her scraps but no one knew about a lost kitten.
5 Ways to Survive the First Weeks of Maternity Leave
1. Leave the House
I know this sounds flipping obvious but I often felt like this was the last thing in the world I wanted to do and yet every time I did I felt a million times better. Being inside for too long just magnifies everything, you look around and see all the shit that needs picking up, cleaning, tidying and you start to lose your mind. Even if you don't have a reason or a particular place to be ,go out, get out anywhere at anytime, just leave the house. Who cares if you're not wearing make up or if you haven't brushed your hair in three days? Chuck on some clothes, if you haven't done any washing yet this week, chuck on yesterdays clothes it doesn't matter just get the fuck out of that house.
Honestly a little walk or sitting on a park bench with a Mars bar can change everything.
We're Being Questioned by the Baby Police
Since Finley turned two, its been like a red rag to a bull for people asking if we're going to have another baby yet.
'Must be time for another don't you think?'
Seriously, is two years like the magic number or something? Is that a deadline I didn't know about? Am I falling behind on some baby schedule production line?
29
Today I am 29. I'm working today so nothing exciting is happening. We took a day off yesterday with the intention of having a day out but that plan got scuppered by a tiny intruder.
So the day was spent running errands, taking the tiny terrorist to the vet and tidying up the house.
We party hard here.
Month Round Up #August
This month has been manic, I'm bloody exhausted to be honest. Its been a great month don't get me wrong but there's been so much going on I've started a petition for a quiet September.
It all kicked off with taking Finley to see the Gruffalo at +Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest .
If you're following me on Twitter you'll know by now that I'm sick to death of the Gruffalo, the hate is real, I literally can't take it anymore.
(And if you're not following me on Twitter you should be because I am terribly witty and interesting @realsareyfairy ).
