This month has been manic, I'm bloody exhausted to be honest. Its been a great month don't get me wrong but there's been so much going on I've started a petition for a quiet September.
It all kicked off with taking Finley to see the Gruffalo at +Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest .
If you're following me on Twitter you'll know by now that I'm sick to death of the Gruffalo, the hate is real, I literally can't take it anymore.
(And if you're not following me on Twitter you should be because I am terribly witty and interesting @realsareyfairy ).
Anyway trouble is, I love my kid and my kid loves the Gruffalo. He freaking loves him and his friends and his child and cannot get enough. So I have watched, read, listened to, met and arranged parties for the Gruffalo more times this year than I care to remember.
Our house is now an official no fly zone for anything Gruffalo related. Its a Police State and the Gruffalo is Public Enemy Number One.
Bedgebury Forest however is lovely, we had great weather that day, it was £10 to park and the whole forest was ours. Its beautiful, I never knew it existed before and we will definitely go again.
We tracked down the afore mentioned character after about 40 mins, despite directions from a helpful guide at the gate we managed to go in the exact opposite direction and get a little bit lost.
I had made up a picnic and we had tea with a Gruffalo.
We also headed over to Rye and Camber Sands this month.You remember that one day when the weather was beach worthy (?) - well we took full advantage of it.
I love Rye, its such a quaint little town. We frequented the old style sweet shop (coconut ice is becoming an issue for me) and Finley bought some glow in dark stars for his bedroom (remember those?). Which by the way have become a brilliant 'time to go to bed tool' - he wants to see his stars so we play that card as often as we can get away with it!
Later in the month we went to the Eastbourne Air Show where I spent £8 on two bottles of water and what was apparently a large portion of chips. Which subsequently Finley decided he didn't really want to eat anyway and so I could have just torn up a £10 note right there and then and have been done with it .We did get free lager though so that cheered me up!

Lovely post and great photos! I hear you about the "beloved" characters wearing thin after a while! I'm getting a bit tired of Thomas the Tank after non-stop for most of the summer! #mmwbh

DeleteI know what you mean August gas been just crazy! I'm back to work next week after done time off so it's nit going to get much quieter. Although I will be able to enjoy a morning coffee in peace (ish). So funny you gate the gruffallo !! X
