I've been properly blogging for almost three months now, when I first started I wasn't really clear on what I was doing or why. I just kind of started. I wrote a post, then another, then I sorted out my Twitter account, wrote some more, started a Facebook page and now its starting to become this amazing process that I really love.
There are lots of things I love about blogging, I love the community of it for starters. I love the linkys, I love the spirit of them. That we all get together to share and promote our posts. Its also been a great way for me to get in touch with other bloggers and find some really good reads. There are loads of great linkys out there but these are my current favourites, that I try my hardest to get involved with every week.

I love that I now know a little bit about HTML and hosting a web site. I transferred by own domain, it was fucking stressful and took like a week, but I did it!
But most of all I love how writing, editing and creating on my blog makes me feel. I treat it like its my own personal magazine, I have complete say in everything posted on this site. I am the author, the photographer, the designer and the editor. Everything here is my creation, my thoughts and my hard work. Sure it might just be me and my Mum (hi mum!) reading it but its pretty great to just put stuff out there. Whether that's something you just want to say or vent, or voice your opinion on a topical issue.
Nothing beats that I just wrote a really awesome article feeling! You don't get that with every single thing you write but I was really buzzing when I finished these two posts in particular : Relocating My Balls After Maternity Leave and I'm Always Going To Be Just a Little Bit Fat. It really ups your mood, has the power to change your day and make you smile! The process of blogging is very therapeutic, you can re-visit old feelings and experiences, pick them apart and share them. Writing about something personal and traumatic such as my experience of agoraphobia or my C-Section can be very cathartic. So before you shell out loads of money on a Therapist, give blogging a go - it could save you a lot of money!
Does anyone else feel this way about writing their blog?
I've always loved blogging for that reason, it's like an adult diary. Those blog hops are great too aren't they! :)
ReplyDeleteLol and yes totally - if i'm cross about something now I'll write and blog post about it #effitfriday
ReplyDeleteYes! I love the voice that blogging gives you! Even if no one reads it, the whole process of writing down what you are feeling is therapy in itself! High 5 to all the bloggers!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the mention :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I completely feel like that. Some posts I write and I am just so proud of. Hours of my (second) emergency c section I saw the image that was doing the rounds about not being a real mum because you didn't push. I blogged about it. I felt so much better. AND I helped other people. Win win all round I'd say xx
