We were recently invited by Aldi to taste test some of their Christmas range. Being the crazed cake lovers that we are, 'PUDDING!!' was my immediate knee jerk
To ensure we carried out a fair and thorough evaluation of the range, Finley and I chose several products for the taste test. We wanted to make sure that our review was meticulous and we didn't want to leave any stone un-turned, just in case it had pudding under it! We took our pudding haul to my parents for Sunday lunch and everyone had a great fun tasting all the different desserts!
My pick were the Winter Berry Cheesecakes, I chose them because they looked great on the box and I wasn't disappointed. There's a lot of berry-content going on there, no scrimping on the raspberries! The biscuit base is nice and crunchy and the berry's on top are nice and sharp!
For me these are an ideal Christmas Day Dessert, because they are light and sweet. They're also really easy, just pop them out of their pockets and defrost for two hours .

We also picked up a Pandoro, I've never tried this Italian cake bread before and I was intrigued. Its a huge cake for £2.99 and once cut and dusted with icing sugar looks really festive. I wouldn't recommend it as a Christmas Dinner Dessert but it would be excellent on Christmas morning with a nice cup of coffee!
Of course we couldn't do a Christmas tasting without an actual Christmas Pudding. These were very popular with the men at the table, is it me or is it always blokes that like fruit cake? Two minutes in the microwave and a little splash of cream these were rather sought after!
If like me, you love pudding like you love your children, you can find out more about Aldi's Christmas range in store or on their website. Its great value and very yummy!

How lucky are you?! I always love cheesecake, but profiteroles are my favoured Christmas Day dessert. I agree - cake bread a good idea for breakfast! #picknmix
ReplyDeleteOh wow, those cakes look amazing! The cheesecakes would be my pick but I wouldn't say no to any of the other ones.
ReplyDeleteI haven't got an Aldi close by, but whenever I have bought stuff there I have never been disappointed
